Kelly Kane, founder of the Kane School of Core Integration, has trained Pilates teachers and taught privately for more than a decade. She studied with Romana Kryzanowska, one of the few living disciples of Joseph Pilates, and Hila Paldi, another Romana-trained professional, and she obtained her certification through the Pilates Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Kelly completed two years of the BodyMind Centering teacher-training program and received her massage certification at the Florida School of Massage. Her manual therapy repertoire includes Structural Integration, CranioSacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulation, and she cultivated her exceptional manual perception skills through three years of human cadaver dissection at the New Jersey School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Since 1993, Kelly has studied Iyengar yoga as well as anatomy and postural assessment with dance and neuro-muscular movement specialist Irene Dowd, and her expertise also includes Gyrotonic® and Continuum Movement. Seeking to incorporate an understanding of the human body into the classical Pilates genre, Kelly opened the Kane School in 1999 as a holistic body college founded on anatomical knowledge to improve strength and stability. Whether through classes and private sessions or through the teacher training program, Kelly’s signature can be found in the school’s singular emphasis on biomechanics and manual touch skills. Carrie Ahern is certified in Pilates through the Kane School. A professional dancer/choreographer, she also brings over 10 years experience in yoga (Iyengar, Kundalini, and Vinyasa) to her teaching. Carrie has taught dance to kids of all ages both at Ballet Academy East and in the New York City public schools. She enjoys creating fun, challenging workouts for any age and level of fitness.

Kuan Hui Chew was born and raised in Singapore. She received her teaching diploma from the Beijing Dance Academy in 1995. In 1998, she graduated from University of Iowa with a BFA in Dance. She is currently a company member of ZviDance and ALLNATIONS Dance Company. Since 1994, Ms. Chew has been frequently invited to teach body conditioning, modern dance technique and Chinese folk dance in institutions throughout Singapore, China and the United States. In addition to performing and teaching, Ms. Chew is an active choreographer, and she was a recipient for the Singapore National Art Council Art Bursary (overseas).

Michelle Cohen a professional modern dancer, is a senior teacher and trainer of Pilates at the Kane School. She has conducted international teacher training workshops for the Kane School in Brighton, England and Tokyo, Japan as well as nationally in Indiana, New York, and Florida. Michelle conducts her own workshops in nutrition and healthy hips to name a few as well as master movement classes in places like California and studios in the tri-state area. Her travels have given her a unique perspective on Pilates in the health, fitness, and dance industries. She initially received her pilates certification with Kelly Kane through the PhysicalMind Institute in 1998 and has been a certified Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® instructor since 2001. Michelle is also a Kettlebell Concepts™ Level I Instructor and integrates momentum training into her teaching practice. Michelle has studied anatomy with Irene Dowd and Kane and continues to study Pilates and Dance with Lesley Powell from Movements Afoot. She is continually broadening her teaching practice and is always the student. She received training in the Bartenieff Fundamentals and has studied various BodyMInd Centering workshops with Martha Eddy. She has been studying the Alexander Technique with Nancy Wechter since 2001. Michelle passionately studies and practices yoga in the Hatha and Iyengar styles which inspire her teaching practice. She has expertise in working professional dancers as well as with clients with special rehabilitation needs namely disc herniations . She has been quoted in Pilates Style Magazine (July 2005) in the article ‘Healing Practice’. As a dancer, Michelle continues to perform locally and internationally with several New York based dance companies. She holds a BA from the American University in Washington, DC and a dance certificate from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. She is presently receiving her yoga teaching certification at Laughing Lotus. As a teacher, Michelle uses her listening skills to hear the body and then fuses her movement sensibilities with sound biomechancis to create customized programs.

James Dorfergrew up in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He first began music and then discovered dance later in life. He was on full scholarship, studying both music and dance as an Undergraduate at Florida State University and in Graduate School at Arizona State University. James has performed with/for American Wind Symphony Orchestra, Gail Gilbert Dance, Kevin Wynn and apprenticed for Sean Curran. James has practiced many modalities like Alexander Technique, Feldenkrais, YBR and Gyrotonic, but found a true love with Pilates. He received his Pilates know-how from The Kane School of Core Integration. With James expect to work hard, have fun and quite possibly learn a thing or two!

Debbi Goodman is a licensed manual physical therapist with specialties in dance medicine, sports medicine, and women's health. She has been a physical therapist for Westside Dance and Physical Therapy, New York City Ballet, School of American Ballet, and the Kane School. Debbi is also a maternal fitness specialist. She is an instructor for pre-natal and
post-partum problems fitness classes. In addition, she sees women
independently to help with pregnancy and post-partum problems including
sciatica, back/neck pain, foot pain, as well as pelvic floor problems such
as incontinence, weakness, and post-delivery scars, using manual techniques
and biofeedback. Debbi's professional focus is to integrate the body and
mind connection for rehabilitation and to increase the client's awareness of her own power of healing.

Kimberly Goss,a modern dancer, is originally from Salem, Oregon, where she began dancing at the age of four. Her interests in movement, body awareness, and biomechanics grew when she was introduced to Pilates in 1995 as a supplement to her dance training. She went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Arizona State University, where she also gained extensive knowledge of anatomy and dance kinesiology. Kim move to New York after graduating in 2003, where she now dances professionally. She received her Pilates certification from The Kane School of Core Integration and has taught there since. Kim has also studied pre-natal Pilates. She enjoys the challenge of teaching not only the fitness-minded, but also helping clients recover from injury and guiding them to work towards their full physical capability.

Mandi Groom is certified in Pilates through the Kane School. She started her movement training with classical ballet at the age of four and has taught dance and creative movement for over ten years. She received her BA in Dance from Mills College in 1999. While completing her degree, she started practicing Pilates to help with chronic injuries. She has also studied prenatal and post-partum pilates, physioball, kinesiology and anatomy, and is currently completing a certification in yoga through Yoga Works.

Yuki Hasegawa, a native of Japan, is a graduate of Kane School of Core Integration. She holds her MA in Dance and Dance Education from New York University and her BA in Psychology from Kobe College. During her study at NYU she enrolled in courses including Dance Alignment I & II (Basic- Intermediate Pilates), Anatomy & Kinesiology, Laban Movement Analysis, Dance Movement Therapy, Dance History, and Modern Dance Technique and Improvisation.
Yuki has had an extensive international career as a professional dancer and choreography. Her performance credits in musicals include Oliver, Golden Boy, No, No, Nanette, a Little House on the Prairie, and SANADA in Tokyo, Japan. She has also appeared on TV dramas, films and TV commercial films in Japan as a dancer. She performed in numerous dance concerts in the U.S. and Japan. She is currently an artistic director and choreographer of Azul Dance Theatre in New York. Yuki's dance works have been seen in major venues in the U.S., Japan, and Greece. As a dance instructor, she has taught jazz dance, modern dance, and creative dance for children at United Nations After School Study and Recreation Program in New York since 2001. She currently teaches at Peridance Center, Dance Project Sequence, and Kane School of Core Integration.

Jared Kaplan graduated from Wesleyan University in 1999 with a B.A. in Dance. He completed the anatomy-based Pilates certification at New York City's renowned Kane School in 2004, and joined their staff as an Expert Teacher immediately thereafter. Promoted to Teacher Trainer in 2005, Jared has led Kane School Teacher Training Equipment Certification workshops in all Pilates equipment and repertoire. In 2008, Jared was promoted to Senior Teacher at the Kane School and received his National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) personal training certificate. A former professional dancer with nicholasleichterdance and Tiffany Mills Co. in New York City, he draws upon his movement training and his studies of Alexander Technique (Shelly Senter), Body-Mind-Centering (K.J. Holmes), and other somatic disciplines to assist clients in achieving their full potential through movement. Having used Pilates to rebound from athletic/dance injuries himself, he is proud to help other people recover. He has worked with a wide range of injuries from scoliosis, osteoporosis, herniated discs, lower-back pain and meniscus tears to pre-and post-natal clients and cancer survivors. He has trained clients from ages 13 to 84, including executives, celebrities, editors, fitness and cover models, tri-athletes, chefs, body builders, gymnasts, professional dancers, other trainers and all kinds of weekend warriors. He is adept at creating tailored private workouts that are as functionally challenging as they are fun.

Krista Loveless grew up in Portland Oregon and still considers herself a West Coast girl.
She moved to New York City 7 years ago to attend Marymount Mahattan College.
She recieved her BA in Dance Education and Psychology in 2005.
After college she continued her education with Big Mama Kane, while working at Equinox Fitness Clubs.

Erin Malley is originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan (yes, the one in the song). Erin is a recent graduate of the Kane School.

Joan Murray is a Pilates Method Alliance Certified teacher. Joan received her Pilates training at the Kane School where she was certified in Touch, Bio-mechanics, and Working With Special Populations. She currently teaches Pilates at West Side Dance and Physical Therapy. Her practice includes distance runners, semi-professional tennis players, as well as members of the New York City Ballet and the Metropolitan Opera. She has helped clients prevent back, hip and knee surgery. She has also helped clients recover from torn Quadriceps, Meniscus repairs and herniated discs.

Rebekah Rotstein is a former ballet dancer whose interest in anatomy evolved through her personal dealings with injuries and subsequent rehabilitation. She later drew on her experience at Smith College, where she worked in the sports medicine department as a student athletic trainer. Certified in Pilates through the Kane School, Rebekah also works privately with pregnant women and new mothers, osteoporotic women and with corporations to help employees reduce white-collar injuries.

Rebecca Smith Millstein is a professional modern dancer who received her B.F.A. from the North Carolina School of the Arts. Ms. Millstein first began studying Pilates in college to help offset chronic injuries. She received her Pilates training at the Kane School of Core Integration. She holds a personal trainer certification though A.C.E. (the American Council on Exercise), a Pre- and Postnatal personal trainer certification through AAAI/ISMA, and a physioball instructor certification through Resist-A-Ball. Ms. Millstein works with a range of private clients, including Parkinson's and breast cancer patients. She teaches group classes at studios and fitness centers in New York City, and has taught at Barnard College, Columbia University and Beth Israel Medical Center. Her goal is to help her clients find more confidence and freedom of movement.

Sherry Stregack, a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College, has been performing in Dance and Theater for twenty-five years. Having included Pilates as an integral part of her own dance and health regimen, she received her teaching certification from The Kane School of Core Integration. Whitney Lynn Tucker,,
a southern Illinoisan, graduated from Arizona State University with a BFA in Dance Education. While there, she began her relationships with Capoeria (Grupo Axe Capoeira), Contact Improvisation (with Nita Little, John Lefan and Nancy Stark Smith), and various forms of Yoga (Iyengar, Vinyasa, Shadow). She has taught dance as a full-time public school tacher, in a transitional facility for prostituted women, and through dance company residencies in the US and abroad. She discovered Pilates as a way to stabilize hyper-mobility and for injury prevention in her dance career. She's currently a member of David Dorfman Dance, Tiffany Mills Company,and Wire Monkey Dance. Whitney is invested in a client's ability to align and balance the internal/subtle body with external chaos. She is thankful for the opportunity to work in such an inspiring place as The Kane School.

Kriota Willberg received certification as a Massage Therapist from the Chicago School of Massage Therapy, a B.A. from Northeastern Illinois University in Dance: Performance and Choreography, and is a Licensed Massage Therapist in New York State. She was a member of the American Massage Therapy Association's National Sports Massage Team, and was a massage therapist for the New York Giants football team. Kriota has taught at the Chicago School of Massage Therapy, NYU (Dance Education), and Bard College. She teaches anatomy in the teacher training programs of Jivamukti Yoga Center, Laughing Lotus, Dragonfly Yoga, and other schools as well as anatomy and injury prevention classes for yoga, dance, and Pilates in New York and internationally.
